What should I consider before requesting a transfer?

Transfer involves challenges including: getting to know new rules, management style and people; arranging travel to a new farm which can be challenging and expensive; lost time during transition that could be spent working and earning money. Consider if the transfer will genuinely improve your situation.

Will a transfer guarantee more working hours?

No. Employment contracts guarantee a minimum of 32 hours per week, and no farm can guarantee more than this. If you're already being offered 32+ hours at your current placement, a transfer is unlikely to increase your working hours.

How long does the transfer process take?

Due to high demand, we aim to respond to transfer requests within 3-4 weeks. The actual transfer process may take additional time depending on availability of suitable placements.

Do I need to discuss issues with my current manager first?

Yes, we strongly recommend discussing your concerns with your supervisor, manager, or welfare team first. Most solutions can be found on the farm without needing to escalate the problem through a transfer request.

What information do I need to provide?

You'll need to provide: email address, WhatsApp phone number, full name, travel document number, date of birth, visa number and expiry date, detailed reason for transfer, and confirmation that you've discussed issues with your current management.

In a new place you will need to get to know new rules, management style and people.
You will need to arrange travel to a new farm, that might be challenging and expensive.
It will take some time to finish your contract in your current place, time for travel and setting up to work in a new place. This time you could be working and earning money at your current placement.

If your transfer request is about low hours, please check your last payslips to see if you were offered work for 32h a week or more. If you were, we will not be able to find another farm that would guarantee more than 32h of work a week. Employment contract you will receive will be 32h minimum and nobody can guarantee more than this. It means, even if you go through all the hassle of changing the farm, you might still be working the same amount of hours.
